Camp Vicente Lim, Calabarzon: Calabarzon police officials report a decline in crime rate after only about a month since the implementation of OPLAN Lambat-Sibat.
The Average Crime Rate for the month of April, an average of 1.78 percent decline was recorded. There were at least 1,257 crime incidents last year as compared to 1,059 this year covering the six crime focus such as murder, homicide, robbery, theft and carnapping of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
OPLAN Lambat-Sibat, which integrates the extensive implementation of checkpoints, mobile and beat patrols and police operations against motorcycle-riding criminals, loose firearms, illegal drugs and others, netted the arrest of 1,147 pushers/users for either selling or in possession of narcotics, the confiscation of 1,221.6642 grams and 93 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and 937.0195 grams of marijuana with a combined estimated street value of Php 13,383,892.18.
There were also 963 cases in violation of the Dangerous Drugs Law that have been filed in various courts in the region.
PNP Calabarzon, under the leadership of Chief Supt Richard Albano received a commendation from Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas for the success of OPLAN Lambat-Sibat.
Roxas, a guest at the National Police Training Institute, gave away medals and presented awards to 26 police officers, who actively participated in scores of accomplishments during the implementation of the program in the different provinces of the region.
