BACOLOD CITY – Stephen King Stehmeier carded 32 points while JP de Claro had 29 as Orchard Golf and Country Club maintained its lead in the second day of the 67th Philippine Airlines Men’s interclub championship at the Negros Golf and Country Club here.
Inspired by their 129 points during the opening, the Orchard also had TJ Benitez scoring 25 and Ace Stehmeier contributing 23 for a day’s 109.
With an overall total of 238, all Orchard leads going into
the third day of the championship which will be played at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club.
The Bukidnon-based Del Monte remained at second with 232, while Alabang jumped to third with 227, dislodging defending
titlist Cebu Country Club, with a two-day total 225.
Zamboanga leaned on Ronald Wee’s 26 points and Bingbong Sebastian’s 24 to settle with 94 for the day and remained on top with a two-day total 200 in the Founders division.
Isaac Ilumba had 23 while Tony Kong finished with 23. They posted 106 in the first day of action.
Tagaytay Highlands was a close second with 199 points.
Alta Vista of Cebu was in third spot with an aggregate 191.
Alta Vista registered the day’s best score of 104 that
complemented its low 87 the other day.
A far fourth was Manila Golf with 188, Mactan Island was in the fifth spot with 186 followed by Iligan with 184 and Wack Wack with 183.
Pueblo de Oro is in 8th position with 177 and Lanang at 9th with 158.
