FORMER world champion Dennis Orcollo copped a bronze medal in the prestigious 2013 World Games being held in Cali, Colombia.

Orcollo placed third in the men’s 9-ball event of the billiards and snooker competition held at the Bowling Coliseum in Unidad Deportiva Alberto Galindo.

The Filipino cue master outclassed Enrique Leopoldo Rojas Contreras of Chile in the first round, 11-3, then clobbered Marcus Chamat of Sweden in the next round, 11-2.

Orcollo, however, fell short against British Darren Appleton in the semifinals, 9-11, and was relegated to the battle-for-bronze match, where he defeated Chinese Liu Haitao, 11-5.

Appleton took the gold by outlasting Taiwanese Chang Jung-Lin, 11-10, in the finals.

The Philippines is looking to add more medals in bowling as Kenneth Chua sees action in the men’s tenpin event while Liza del Rosario competes in the women’s division. They will also participate in the mixed doubles event.
