Orcollo bags runner up plum in 2nd Texas 10-Ball Championship

Former world champion Dennis Orcollo settled for the runner-up honors in the 2nd Texas 10-Ball Championship held at the Round Rock in Texas, US. The 37-year-old Surigao native suffered a 1-2 loss to American Sky Woodward in the best-of-three championship series. Woodward bagged the $4,000 champion’s prize and Orcollo received the $2,300 runner-up purse. Orcollo reached the finals by beating American Jeremy Jones, 7-3, in the semifinals while Woodward outplayed his compatriot Justin Bergman in the other semifinal game, 7-4. Filipino Roberto Gomez took the third spot and got $1,520. The other Filipinos in the tournament were ninth placer Warren Kiamco ($330), ang 13th placers Mark Mendoza and Jeffrey Ignacio, who both earned $250.
