Former world champion Dennis Orcollo bagged his first title this year after ruling the 2016 Derby City Classic 14.1 George Fels Memorial Straight Pool Challenge held in Elizabeth in Indiana, US.
The 37-year-old Orcollo posted an impressive125-14 win over American John Schmidt in the finals.
It was his second Straight Pool Challenge crown in the tournament after topping the 2014 edition.
Orcollo made it to the finals by ousting American Mike Davis in the first semifinals match while Schmidt defeated Konstantin Stepanov of Russia in the other Final Four game.
In Derby City Classic Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, Orcollo and legendary cuemaster Efren “Bata” Reyes faltered in the semifinals.
Orcollo succumbed to American Shane Van Boening, 9-11, while Reyes suffered an 8-11 loss to Jayson Shaw of Great Britain.
Orcollo reached the semifinals as he trounced compatriots Carlo Biado in the first round, 11-10, and Lee Van Corteza in the quarterfinals, 11-7, while Reyes booked his semifinals slot by thumping Darren Appleton of Great Britain in the opening round, 11-9, and Django Bustamante in the quarterfinals, 11-7.
In 9-Ball Banks Division, Orcollo finished fourth overall Orcollo behind American John Brumback (champion), Shaw (runner-up) and American Alex Olinger (third place).
