Former world champion Dennis Orcollo settled for the third-place honors in the 2014 CSI Invitational 10-Ball Championship held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Orcollo was booted out of contention after absorbing a 5-9 loss to Ko Pin-Yi of Taiwan in the semifinals. Ko ruled the tournament following an 11-9 win over his younger brother Ko Ping-Chung in the championship round.
Orcollo, nonetheless, pocketed a $2,500 consolation while Pin-Yi grabbed the $8,250 top purse and Ping-Chung got the $5,250 runner-up prize.
Former World 9-Ball titlist Francisco “Django” Bustamante wound up ninth for $1,000 while Hall of Famer Efren “Bata” Reyes and Warren Kiamco both finished 13th for $500.
Meanwhile, Reyes and Bustamante will be meeting Americans Mike Dechaine and Corey Deuel in the OB Challenge Race-to-21 scotch doubles 8-Ball match.
