Former world champion Dennis Orcollo topped the 1st Annual Tornado Open Men’s 10-Ball Championship held recently at the San Antonio Hall in Texas, US.
The 36-year-old Orcollo outclassed American Mike Dechaine in the finals to pocket the $7,000 top purse in the invitational tournament.
Dechaine settled for the $3,400 runner-up purse while American Skyler Woodward wound up third for the $2,600 consolation purse and legendary Filipino cue master Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes placed fourth to receive $1,800.
It was Orcollo’s fourth title this year.
He earlier ruled the Super Billiards Expo 2015 Players Championship in April in Oaks, Pennsylvania; US Open 8-Ball Championship in July in Las Vegas, Nevada; and the 2015 Carom Room Fall Classic in August in Beloit, Wisconsin.
Orcollo improved to sixth place in the Az Billiards Money Maker list with a total earning of $82,238.
Great Britain’s Darren Appleton is leading with $148,778 followed by Filipino-Canadian Alex Pagu¬layan, who earned $138,278.
Rounding up the Top 10 were No. 3 Shane Van Boening of US ($132,376), No. 4 Justin Bergman of US ($103,990), No. 5 Ko Pin-Yi of Taiwan ($102,700), No. 7 Kim Ga-Young of South Korea ($74,289), No. 8 John Morra of Canada ($67,340), No. 9 Bain Ge of China ($66,950) and No. 10 Yang Fan of China ($58,507).
