Former world champion Dennis Orcollo ruled the prestigious 2015 US Open 8-Ball Championship held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 36-year-old Orcollo posted a come-from-behind 11-9 win over American Mike Dechaine in the championship round to pocket the $11,000 top purse.
Dechaine settled for $7,000 runner-up prize.
The Amerian cue master started hot with a commanding 4-0 lead but Orcollo came back strong to tie the game at 4-4.
Dechaine was leading with a two-rack advantage in the 16th frame, 9-7, until Orcollo swept the last four racks en route to winning the crown.
Orcollo made it to the finals by trouncing Rodney Morris of US (9-1), Jason Klatt of Canada (9-1), Rafael Martinez of Mexico (9-7) and John Morra of Canada (9-7).
Guangzhou Asian Games silver medalist Warren Kaiamco and Jeffrey Ignacio shared the ninth place for $800 consolation each.
It was Orcollo’s second title this year after topping the Super Billiards Expo 2015 Players Championship held in Pennsylvania, US in April.
In June, Orcollo bagged the men’s 9-Ball Pool Singles gold medal in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games held in Singapore.
