Ormoc City prepares for El Niño

The Ormoc City Agriculture Office (CAO) is preparing for the El Niño as it hits the province of Leyte by encouraging farmers to adopt a new system that would sustain their livelihood. This system includes the choice of planting material, use of proper and effective technology, changing the planting season and the variety of crops. Dr. Joey Cortez, CAO chief, added that there are also many varieties of plants that they can use that will not be affected and will continue to be productive even on drought in vegetables, rice and corns.
