TWO scholars of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) made it to the Top 10 of the Licensure Examination for Registered Electrical Engineers.
According to OWWA Admi-nistrator Carmelita Dimzon, Melvin Lacia and Leo Barcenas placed fifth and sixth, res-pectively in the Engineering Exams given on September 7 and 8 of this year.
Lacia is a graduate of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, while Barcenas graduated at the Uni-versity of the Philippines-Dili-man, Quezon City in March 2013. Lacia graduated Magna Cum Laude while Barcenas graduated Cum Laude.
During the recognition lunch treat for the scholars in April, Dimzon challenged those who graduated with honors to top the Board Examinations. The two rose to the occasion.
OWWA has produced several graduates who finished with honors.
In 2013 alone, OWWA pro-duced two Summa Cum Laude, seven Magna Cum Laude, and 20 Cum Laude.
Stanley Dalisay, an OWWA scholar who finished Medical Technology at UP Manila is now in the US studying at the West Point Academy.
