THE image of Senora de Triunfo de Ozamis (Our Lady of Triumph) will be returning home on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, after it went missing for four decades since 1975. Ozamis Archbishop Martin Jumoad said the image was found and bought by a man named J.V Esposo during an auction in Makati and will return the icon to the Diocese of Ozamis. “The image was brought here [Philippines] in 1756 and was brought to the Cathedral, when later, in 1975 it was lost,” the Archbishop said. On its return to Ozamis, the image will be carried in a procession from the airport to the Cathedral of the archdiocese and then to Birhen ng Kotta Parish. Pilgrims pray to the miraculous image especially on July 16 during the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and on December 8 on the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
