He said that the suspects were tagged as responsible in the ambush-slaying of Okinlay while on his way home after holding a medical mission in the farming village of Bontongon, one of the hinterland villages of Impasug-ong.
According to Genabe, the PNP regional command has released the photos of the suspects as the law enforcers issued a region wide manhunt for the arrest of the assailants.
The North Central Mindanao Region issued a statement last Saturday, claiming that snipers of the New People’s Army (NPA), the military arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) shot and killed Okinlay who was active in the counterinsurgency drive in Impasug-ong, a First Class town of Bukidnon in Northern Mindanao.
Genabe said that the PNP regional command joined the people of Impasug-ong, in particular and Bukidnon in general in condemning the barbaric and act of cowardice perpetrated by the NPA rebels against Okinlay and other victims of the NPA’s atrocities in Northern Mindanao and elsewhere in the country.
