P107-M marijuana burned in Kalinga

La Trinidad, Benguet: Government authorities here torched a total of P107.4- million worth of marijuana during raids on marijuana plantations in upland Kalinga. Some P34,280,000,000 worth of hemp went up in smoke in Kasablutan, Loccong village, Tinglayan town, last week after Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents, soldiers and local policemen overran three marijuana cultivation sites of more than 16,100 square meters. All 171,400 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants, except samples for evidence, went ablaze. No cultivator, however, was arrested. In another operation, over P73,200,000 worth of fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted from plantation sites in Chumanchil, also in Loccong.
