• P126M earmarked for Nueva Vizcaya tourism

KASIBU, Nueva Vizcaya: An initial funding of P46 million from the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be poured for the improvement of the major road system leading to the Capissaan cave system in this upland town.

Provincial Manager Benjamin Moses Ebreo of the Philippine Information Agency said the initial funds from the DOT and DPWH is part of their “convergence program to develop major access roads for major tourism attractions in the country to lure local and international tourists.”

Ebreo said this will be augmented by another P40 million each from the said agencies to be spent in 2014 and 2015 for the completion of the access road development project covering more than 35 kilometer access road that needs to be improved to boost tourism in the village of Capissaan.

”If completed, the road project will prevent dangerous top loading due to limited number of passenger jeepneys plying the unpaved road along the rugged terrains of Kasibu going to the tourism site,” Ebreo said.
