ILOILO CITY: A P12-billion Information Technology Park along the Benigno Aquino Avenue in Mandurriao district will soon be completed.
City Councilor Neilex Tupas, chairman of the SP committee on trade and industry, said the project is a clear manifestation of investors’ trust and confidence in Iloilo City, which is eyed to become the new business and tourism hub in Western Visayas.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog earlier said the numerous development projects, particularly in the Mandurriao district, which is the preferred site of investors, are ready to accept business locators.
Last week, the Iloilo City Council approved an endorsement to the property development project of HEVA Management and Development Corp. as part of the Gaisano Group of Companies, to get accreditation from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
Tupas said the project will help push the city as an IT center in the Visayas.
Aside from the plans to convert the site into a new shopping and fun center, the16-hectare project include the construction of a 40-storey skyscraper, commercial and residential spaces and leisure parks.
Tupas said the City Council’s endorsement aims to help project developer HEVA Management and Development Corporation to get an accreditation from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
Once accredited by PEZA, the project can avail of incentives such as exemption from withholding tax and other incentives.
