TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: In a move to protect power facilities from typhoons in Batanes province, the electric cooperative here is switching to underground cables from overhead power lines.
Project engineer Donald Poncio of the Batanes Electric Cooperative (Batanelco) said that underground cables are more secured and can maintain a continuous power supply even during strong typhoons.
