OVER P2-million worth of shabu and more than half a million worth of marijuana were seized when 200 heavily-armed policemen raided four suspected drug dens in Datu Ismael, Dasmarinas City, Cavite at 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
Nine suspects arrested during the raid were identified as Makahama Aktav, 40; Alonganan Shiekasabi, 40; Abaul Latif Alawiya, 20; Aminola Umtawar Makaulaw, 28; Monnanad Baranie Guro,19; and a 16-year-old male.
The female suspects were named as Lalawin Macaraya, 38; Asima Jamil, 21; and Sittie Ainan Diangka, 24.
All are residents of Datu Ismael and currently in the custody of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) in Camp Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City, Cavite.
Two hundred grams of shabu worth P2.3 million and a kilo of marijuana worth P550,000 were confiscated during the raid.
Also seized were several high-powered firearms and ammunition, grenades, weighing scales, a radio, mobile phones, various IDs, assorted cash and drug paraphernalia.
The raiding team was led by Cavite Police Director Joselito Esquivel; Police Superintendent Romano Cardino; and PIB Chief and Police Superintendent Joseph Javier.
The team arrived in 15 vehicles and was composed of eight groups. It was composed of members of the PIB, Special Weapons and Tactics, and the Provincial Public Safety Company.
They were armed with search warrants issued by Judge Afrifino Morla of Regional Trial Court Branch 32 of Santa Cruz, Laguna; and Judge Cynthia Ricablanca of Regional Trial Court Branch 23 of San Pablo City, Laguna.
The cops immediately swooped down on four houses said to be drug dens. One of the houses was equipped with a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system while the rest had secret vaults and secret passageways.
Fortunately, no firefight ensued between the cops and the suspects.
