The family of slain businessman Rufino Guinto has offered P200,000 reward for information that could lead to the identities of the gunmen in the December 27 assassination in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
Guinto, uncle of The Manila Times senior reporter and National Press Club (NPC) president Joel SyEgco, was shot in the twice in the head by unidentified assailants on board a motorcycle.
The victim was on his way back to his residence in Brgy. Castellano, San Leonardo from another town when the killing happened.
Senior Supt. Ricardo Villa-nueva, commanding officer of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC), one of the units looking into the case, said informant will also be assured of a witness protection.
Philippine National Police chief Ricardo Marquez Jr., instructed Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Director Manuel Cornel and Gapan City police chief Supt. Nelson Aganon to do everything necessary to unmask the perpetrators of the gruesome murder.
