THE Philippine Drug Enforce-ment Agency (PDEA), in colla-boration with law enforcement units in Benguet, destroyed P27.7-million worth of mari-juana plantations in two remote barangays in Kibungan.

PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. said that during the operation, which was conducted from October 30 to November 3, authorities discovered 62 plantation sites in Sitios Les-eng, Todag, Wallayan, Batangan, Bacbacan, Pingew and Culiang in Barangay Tacadang, and Sitio Deckan in Barangay Badeo. Confiscated were 97,100 pieces of fully grown plants; 15,225 pieces of marijuana seedlings; 2,000 grams of dried leaves; 60,000 grams of marijuana stalks; and 5,000 grams of seeds.
