Police on Sunday night seized about P375-million worth of ‘shabu’ from four foreigners during a buy-bust operation at a fastfood outlet in Philcoa, Quezon City.
Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Anti-Illegal Drugs group arrested two Chinese — Wei Chang Lee and Henry Go Sy — and two Taiwanese — Chu Cheng Chu and Shan Wen Lee.
PNP Director General Ricardo Marquez, who was present during the arrest, said the suspects have been their target for weeks.
According to QCPD chief Supt. Edgardo Tinio, they confiscated five bags containing 75 kilos of high-grade narcotics inside the suspects’ van.
Also seized were four sling bags containing P1 million in marked money.
Police surmised that the foreigners belong to a drug ring responsible for the distribution of illegal drugs to pushers in Manila.
They will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
