• P50K reward up for village chiefs killers

COTABATO CITY: Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi has offered P50,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that could lead to the arrest of siblings believed to be the masterminds in rido (clan war)-triggered murders on Monday night of a village chairman and his son.

Police Insp. Leonardo Enggay, deputy police station chief, said Ben Okad Dilangalen, 51, and his son Daran Abdullah, 19, were inside their house in Barangay Rosary Heights 6, Purok Penin when armed men barged in and fired shots at them.

The village official died from multiple gunshot wounds while his son, sustained a gunshot wound in the back and stab wounds in the arm.

The reward money was raised for the arrest of the suspected masterminds identified as Juhari Abang and his brother who are now the subjects of a police manhunt.

Initial investigation showed that the suspects—Engkao Esmael and his sons Datu Not Emil and Joharie Amil and two others—forced their way into Dilangalen’s residence and opened fire at the victims.

Witnesses said that after the shooting, the suspects casually walked out of the victims’ house.

The elder Esmael and Datu Not Emil have been arrested, while Juharie Esmael remains at large along with two others.

Enggay said the father-sons suspects were armed with bladed weapons while Juharie carried a handgun.
