P5M marijuana burned in Kalinga


TINGLAYAN, Kalinga: At least P5.180 million worth of marijuana plants in four plantation sites were destroyed and burned during a “one time, big time” police operations here. Police Provincial Director, Senior Supt. Victor Wanchakan, said a special anti-illegal drugs unit uprooted and burned at the site more than 20,000 fully grown stems and 10,000 seedlings of marijuana in plantation sites in Barangay Lucong. However, none among the suspected cultivators were arrested. Police also conducted the same operation in Barangay Gaang, Tanudan town where a small cultivation was destroyed. Police said the municipality has been the site of previous eradication raids by government operatives.
