BENEFICIARIES of the 44 members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) killed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, have received a total of P77,176,441.30, PNP Officer-in-Charge and Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina announced on Tuesday.
According to Espina, the amount came from the PNP, National Police Commission (Napolcom) and other institutions; and the President’s Social Fund as of March 31, 2015.
In a report to Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas 2nd, he itemized the summary of lump-sum, pension and other benefits of the 44 beneficiaries of the SAF commandos who were killed while on anti-terrorist mission by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front on January 25.
Lump-sum benefits are from the President’s Social Fund-Special Financial Assistance (P11 million); the PNP’s Special Financial Assistance (P7,682,433.00) and Commutation of Accumulative Leave (P9,604,944.52); and Napolcom’s Burial (P2,893,431.00) and Gratuity (P11,573,724.00) benefits.
Pension benefits are given by the PNP (P1,143,921.56) and Napolcom (P490,193.80) through ATM Pension accounts.
Other benefits came from the Public Safety Mutual Benefits Fund Inc. (P24,537,793.42); the Senate (P5,150,000.00); and the donation of the local government of Dasmarinas, Cavite (P3,100,000.00).
