CAMP Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet: Anti narcotics police in the Cordillera scored anew in its anti-illegal drugs operation after the successful eradication in Benguet of P8,023,000 worth of marijuana plants, seedlings and dried stalks planted in a land area of 2,876 square meters. In Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet, 13,940 fully grown marijuana plants worth P7,412,000 were destroyed, while in Sub Sitio Lococ, Lebeng, Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet, 3,700 fully grown marijuana plants worth P611,000 were likewise uprooted. In a recent police report, about 701 marijuana cultivators and drug pushers and users surrendered to police while 22 were arrested as police and barangay officials joined hands in carrying out a tough anti-drug program initiated by the president. The other day, 120 marijuana farmers and drug users surrendered to police, with the Benguet Police Provincial Office having the highest number of surrenderers at 63, followed by Abra with 46 and Kalinga with 11.
