LEGAZPI CITY: As the two-week Pacific Partnership 2016 starts today in Albay, province officers of the United States Armed Forces hope to promote goodwill here.
RDML Bruce L. Gillingham, Navy Medicine West Navy of the US Armed Forces, said they want to share humanitarian and disaster capabilities, skills, knowledge and compassion.
“We want to employ and share capabilities on humanitarian and disaster relief. In developing capacity you’re developing resilience,” Gillingham told The Manila Times in an interview here.
He said that the Pacific Partnership team has established an ambitious schedule for the next two weeks here in Legazpi through cooperative health engagements, health fairs and medical care, with an emphasis on developing capacity for all who participate, and will occur at seven sites within the province.
The two-week mission aims to provide medical assistance to 3,000 Albayanos.
