Freddie Roach aims to begin Manny Pacquiao’s training for his rematch against unbeaten American Timothy Bradley in the United States on March 1. Pacquiao’s second bout with Bradley is set on April 12, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I’m going to arrive from China after [Zou] Shiming’s fight and we’re going to spend a couple of weeks in the Philippines before targeting a March 1 return to Los Angeles,” Roach told Chris Robinson of hustleboss.com.
Roach plans to spend a few weeks in General Santos, during the first two weeks of his prized ward’s training and conditioning then fly to the US for the last six weeks of Pacquiao’s preparation in his Wild Card gym in California.
“Aggressive is so good in this fight. We have to cut the ring off and he’s going to be moving trying to outbox us so we have to cut it off and make it a little smaller and force him to fight a little bit more. Once he gets hit, he’ll become his old self,” Roach told hustleboss.com.
Bradley (31-0 win-loss slate with 12 knockouts) scored a controversial unanimous decision win over Pacquiao (55-5-1 slate with 38 knockouts) in their first fight.
