The press tour for the third fight between eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Timothy on April 23 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas will begin next week according to Top Rank boss Bob Arum.
“Pacquiao will be arriving on Monday. He will be joined by Freddie [Roach] while Bradley will be accompanied by his new trainer Teddy Atlas. Manny will return to Manila, I think on Saturday,” Arum told The Manila Times on Saturday in a phone interview. “It is going to be a world championship showdown.”
Arum said that Pacquiao (57-6-2 win-loss-draw record with 38 knockouts) will start his training in the middle of February at the Wildcard gym in Los Angeles.
“Manny has started his light training there in the Philippines, but he’s going to start his training here in the US at the Wildcard gym,” added Arum. “We have to avoid any interruptions. I believe Manny will fight well against Bradley.”
Arum said that Pacquiao is also scheduled to see his doctor on Wednesday in Los Angeles for a check-up of his right shoulder. Pacquiao’ right rotator cuff underwent surgery last May after he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. via unanimous decision.
Bradley (33-1-1 record with 13 knockouts) in his last fight in November defeated Brandon Rios via ninth round technical knockout at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
