THE camp of Manny Pacquiao said that the Filipino champion opted to ignore the latest Twitter and Instagram taunts of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and just focus on his training for his upcoming bout against Chris Algieri.

“Pacquiao always ignored Mayweather’s rant and he just laughed about it. He is busy with his training for his upcoming fight,” Pacquiao’s long time business manager Eric Pineda told The Manila Times in a phone interview on Monday. “Manny also told me that he really wanted to fight Floyd, so why don’t they just fight?”

In his latest posts in Twitter and Instagram, Mayweather uploaded a picture of Pacquiao being knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012 with a caption: “My new boxing DVD is coming soon and is called “3 Ways to sleep, back, face and butt and I’m falling & I can’t get up . . . Miss Pac man is broke for a payday. Your pay-per-view numbers are a joke.”

The reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Pacquiao (56-5-2 win-loss-draw record with 38 knockouts) responded to Mayweather’s insults with his usual composure.

“I’m not angry at him. I still feel sorry for him, because he acts like an uneducated person. It’s pitiful to me, and I’m praying for him,” Pacquiao said in an interview by GMA7 News 24 Oras.

Pacquiao also challenged Mayweather to finally face him in a unification bout in 2015.

“Manny is ready to fight Mayweather at any given time and place. It’s now up to Mayweather. I believe that super mega bout is close to happening soon,” said Pineda.

Pacquiao is scheduled to fight the unbeaten American WBO junior welterweight champion Algieri on November 23 at the Cotai Arena of the Venetian Hotel in Macau.

  1. I wonder why it is none of you ever ask manny why he refused rbt to fight night back in 2009/2010, but will accept it now. I mean thats all he had to accept back then & the fight would have happened, but never once have i seen a pinoy ask him that question. I know if it had been floyd who had refused rbt to fight night every single one of you would have asked him why he wouldnt take rbt. Is it because like me you think he was juicing & are afraid of finding out & please dont tell me he wouldnt cheat as he is a honourable man & a congressman as where there is lots of money there is lots of cheating stealing & whatever. Just look at all your senators right now, your top policemen right now, we all know corruption is rife in the philippines & boxing is no different. Just look at the olympics & see how few medals the philippines has ever won, even in boxing, could it be partly due to rbt 24/7 365 days per year, its compulsory. its at least a possibility isnt it.
We know manny has problems right now with the bir & the irs. It was just such a silly avoidable problem that only needed a origional certerficate from the irs to show what tax he had paid on what earnings. So when you see that i know i see something is sadly amiss here & i also think something underhand is happening to help protect him.
