Pacquiao gives houses to Sarangani’s homeless

SARANGANI PROVINCE: Representative Manny Pacquiao gave away 150 housing units over the weekend to homeless people in Bales village, Maasim town in this province ahead of his 37th birthday celebration next year.

The 150 houses are part of the overall project called Pacman Village, which will be funded personally by Pacquiao as his gifts to the people of Bales. He will be celebrating his next birthday on February 17.

Ricardo Marcellana, project contractor, said a total of 300 housing units will be built in the four-hectare land, which Pacquiao bought for the project a couple of years back.

“P28.5 million is just a total [housing]project cost. It does not include the cost of buying the land used for the project,” Marcellana revealed.

Marcella said construction of the second phase, which consists of 150 additional housing units, will start this week and is expected to be completed by February next year.

Construction of the 150 housing units will start this week and should be completed by February next year, he said.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao told the beneficiaries to thank God. not him, adding that God is just using him to help other people.

“Give thanks to God for what you have received today. It’s a gift from him. He’s just using me to help you. Take good care of this property and don’t sell it,” Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao said more homeless residents may receive similar blessings as his target is to build a total of 600 housing units in the area.
