Manny Pacquiao is the heavy favorite to win against Mexican-American Brandon Rios in all the online betting sportsbooks and the odds-makers worldwide a day before their fight in Macau, China.
The fightnews.com boxing site said Pacquiao is a -500 to -700 favorite at online sportsbooks to defeat Rios, whose backers can get +350 to +400. With one-sided odds, more scrutiny is paid to the proposition bets.
“Brandon (Rios) will no doubt come out throwing bombs but, to be honest, I expect Pacquiao to batter him,” British light welterweight boxer Frankie Gavin, who is expecting the eighth-weight world division title holder to win convincingly, told boxingonline.com Thursday.
“I expect Manny will start off boxing him, darting in and out like when he bamboozled De La Hoya – and Rios is no De La Hoya – and overwhelm him somewhere between eight and ten rounds. Rios is way too easy to catch and Pacquiao hits very, very hard. He’s going to shred him to bits,” Gavin added.
Pacquiao took a one-sided -175 to -220 to win by knockout, technical knockout or by disqualification. A Pacquiao win by decision will net +250 to +300.
If ever Rios’ wins, people who bet on him will earn +550 to +650 by knockout, technical knockout or by disqualification and a whopping +1000 to +1600 if ever he win by decision.
An over/under is set at 9.5 rounds with over at +115 and under is -135.
But the oddsmakers are convinced that Pacquiao will beat Rios early in the fight.
