Manny Pacquiao met several American lawmakers including Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, a former boxer, during the National Prayer Breakfast at the Capitol Hill in Washington DC on Thursday.
“Explained my injury to Manny [Pacquiao]. He also told me he’s ready to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.,” Senator Reid posted in his official Twitter account @SenatorReid. Reid, 75, sustained the injury at home while exercising.
Reid also wished Pacquiao luck should the Filipino’s mega fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. pushed through.
Pacquiao also met Rep. Janice Hahn of California’s 44th congressional district and Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin.
“It was a good and very productive. They wished Manny all the best as a congressman and as a fighter,” Pacquiao’s adviser Mike Koncz told The Manila Times in a phone interview on Thursday. Koncz refused to comment on the status of the negotiation on the Pacquiao-Mayweather mega bout.
