The Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG has opened its latest branch in Marikina as part of its thrust to strengthen its presence in the National Capital Region(NCR).

Pag-IBIG has been expanding the number of its offices in recent years, to bring its services closer to its members.

The fund noted that it expects to serve more than 50,000 members and 2,000 employers located in the barangays of Barangka, Concepcion Uno, Concepcion Dos, Calumpang, Fortune, Industrial Valley Complex, Jesus dela Peña, Malanday, Marikina Heights, Nangka, Parang, San Roque, Sta. Elena, Sto. Nino, Tañong, and Tumana, all of which are in Marikina.

At present, the Fund has a total of 114 offices across the country that serve almost 17 million members. This is triple the number of Pag-IBIG offices in 2010, which was then only 38.

Similarly, Pag-IBIG branches in NCR more than doubled as it currently has 24 branches serving 6.7 million members, compared to its 11 branches in 2010.

Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ophelia dela Cerna noted that the new branch in Marikina expects to serve an average of 250 clients daily.

“We are bringing Pag-IBIG services closer to more members in Metro Manila. Before, our clients from Marikina would go to our Cubao branch just to transact or avail of our programs. Now that we have opened the doors of our Marikina branch, they won’t have to commute far and brave the traffic just to utilize the benefits,” dela Cerna said.

Among the services members can avail themselves of in the newly-opened Pag-IBIG branch are the issuance of membership identification (MID) number, online membership registration assistance, provident benefit claims, and receiving of monthly membership contributions and members’ savings under the Modified Pag-IBIG 2 Program.

“The transfer of member’s records and loan details can also be accomplished here. Members who have availed themselves of the multi-purpose loan and calamity loan can claim the proceeds through Pag-IBIG Citi Prepaid Card or LANDBANK Cash Card,” Pag-IBIG said.

Dela Cerna noted that members can also apply for the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card in the new branch.

“Through the Loyalty Card, members can enjoy privileges and discounts from our partner-establishments nationwide such as schools, hospitals, restaurants, and merchants,” dela Cerna said.

The new office is located at the 2nd Floor of Graceland Plaza, Sta. Teresita Village, JP Rizal, Lamuan in Barangay Malanday. The office is manned by 23 personnel, led by Branch Head Lalaine Yang.
