Filipino Prince Albert Pagara absorbed an eighth-round technical knockout to Mexican Cesar Juarez on Sunday at the San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo California in US.
Pagara, 22, who suffered his first loss in 27 fights with 18 knockouts, scored a knockdown against Juarez but couldn’t follow his impressive early-round showing.
Juarez (18-5 win-loss record with 14 knockouts) hit Pagara with power-packed combinations in the eighth round with still more than a minute left to score the knockout victory.
Pagara’s elder brother Jason Pagara won over Mexican Abraham Alvarez via third round technical knockout win in the junior welterweight bout.
Jason’s record improved to 39-2 win-loss record with 24 knockouts, while Alvarez dropped to 21-10-1 record.
