• PAGASA issues yellow rainfall warning in Luzon

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday afternoon issued a yellow rainfall warning on some provinces in Luzon due to a low pressure area.

PAGASA weather forecaster Fernando Cada said the Yellow Warning Signal issued at 3:45 p.m., means expect moderate to heavy rains to affect the provinces in Quezon, Laguna and Batangas.

He said the LPA continues to move towards Luzon and has a small chance to intensify into a tropical cyclone but the agency continues to monitor.

Under the heavy rainfall warning system, a yellow rainfall advisory is raised when the expected rainfall amount is between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and likely to continue.

Communities given this advisory are advised to be aware of the weather condition and warned that flooding may be possible in low-lying areas.

Cada said a thunderstorm is affecting Bataan (Orani, Samal, Abucay), Metro Manila, Bulacan, Zambales and portions of Cavite, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija which may persist within 2 hours.

“People are advised to monitor the weather condition and watch out for the next warning,” said PAGASA. PNA
