Pagasa told to remit unspent P1.858 million

The Commission of Audit (COA) has directed the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) to remit its remaining unspent cash balances. Based on COA’s 2013 report on Pagasa’s accounts, the said agency has dormant cash balances amounting to P1.858 million. “The unexpended balances of project funds amounting P1.858 million, which are deposited with the [Land Bank], have been dormant for over four to fourteen years and not remitted to the National Treasury,” state auditors said.
