Palawan observes National Arts Month

Palawan is celebrating National Arts Month this February by waiving the entrance fee to the Palawan Heritage Center (PHC). The free entrance to the PHC was on orders of Governor Jose Alvarez to provide opportunity to guests and visitors to get to know the province’s cultural history and traditions. The celebration’s theme this year is “Arts on the Edge.” The PHC is a 480-square meter interactive museum that opened on June 23, 2012. It showcases the life, rich culture and history of the proud Palaweños. The heritage center, which is in the Legislative Building, Capitol Complex in Puerto Princesa is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Palawan will host the Philippine Arts Festival to be jointly implemented by the National Commission for Culture and Arts, the Palawan State University Sining Palawan Dance Troupe, the provincial government and Robinsons Place.
