THE provincial government of Pampanga has put up a medical ward dedicated for the members of the Aeta community at the Romana Pangan District Hospital.
The new Indigenous People’s (IP) ward, the first in the province, is to be used solely by Aetas who are sick and their family members tending to them.
The facility has three hospital beds with electric fans to guarantee the comfort and well being of its patients.
The IP ward also has its own nurses’ station to ensure that patients’ needs are immediately attended to.
The provincial government will also establish additional IP wards in the other district hospitals in the province, namely, Jose S. Lapid District Hospital (formerly Porac District Hospital), and Mabalacat District Hospital.
Aside from the IP wards, the provincial government will also put up pulmonary wards in every district and provincial hospital.
Governor Lilia Pineda said the additional facilities aimed to systematize the services of government hospitals in the province.
Pineda said the patients should be divided according to their illnesses to prevent transmission of diseases especially from those who have tuberculosis (TB). PNA
