SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga: Earnings of the provincial government from quarrying reached over P840 million in a span of three years.
The record-setting revenue collection was achieved under the leadership of re-elected Gov. Lilia Pineda.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the province headed by Engr. Art Punsalan commented that the effective collection from quarry sections such as anti-overloading fees, sand and gravel fees, weighing scale fees and accreditation of vehicles generated revenues totaling P842,097,879 from July 2010 to June 30 this year.
Pineda was elated over the record-breaking revenues, saying that the funds would go to provincial programs such as health, education and livelihood.
“We are happy with the results of our quarry operations because we could help more of our constituents,” Pineda said.
