Paranaque court sentences Taiwanese to life for drug possession

A Paranaque City court has sentenced a Taiwanese to life imprisonment for possession of ketamine hydrochloride, a dangerous drug.

PDEA Director General, Undersecretary Arturo G Cacdac Jr. said he is pleased with the conviction of Chih Chien Yang, alias Jeff Yang, after four years of trial.

Chih was sentenced last April 15 by Judge Danilo V Suarez of Paranaque’s Regional Trial Court, Branch 259, for possession of 9.9 kilos of ketamine hydrochloride.

The Taiwanese was arrested by agents of Philippine National Police- Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PNP-AIDSOTF) in his house at 19B Humility Street, Multinational Village, Parañaque.

Ketamine hydrochloride is listed by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) as among the country’s dangerous drugs.
