Parañaque goes paperless

PARAÑAQUE City Mayor Edwin Olivarez on Tuesday said business owners renewing their business permits for 2016 no longer need to fill up a form as initial step to make the city paperless in its transactions. Under the new scheme, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) assessors will only download the data from its database for the taxpayer to confirm. If there are no changes in details, assessment can proceed without delay, thus saving time and effort for both taxpayers and the government. Olivarez said with BPLO’s simplified process, taxpayers are assured of customer-friendly transactions and hassle-free process. As of December 2015, the city registered about 20,000 businesses.
