• Parks leaves Gilas to pursue NBA dream

Two-time University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Most Valuable Player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. will forfeit his spot in the Gilas Cadets national team that would compete in the Southeast Asian games in Singapore on June 5, to pursue his dream of playing in the NBA.

The 23-year old former National University Bulldog will leave for the United States on Tuesday. He will try to earn a spot in the NBA draft to be held on June 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Also leaving Gilas is Russell Escoto who failed to get proper accreditation for the upcoming games.

The De LaSalle University sophomore Prince Rivero and San Beda College guard Baser Amer will fill the spots of Parks and Escoto. Marcus Douthit will once again be leading the Cadets alongside Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Ferrer and Mark Belo.
