Parts of Samar and Northern Samar remain without electricity due to the damage caused by tropical storm “Amang,” according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Monday.
Based on NGCP’s 5 p.m. Monday update, the Northern Samar towns which are still disconnected to the grid are Catubig, Gamay, Lao-ang, Pambulan, Palapag, Las Navas, Bobon, Catarman, Mondragon, San Roque, Rosario, San Jose, Lope de Vega, Allen, Victoria, San Isidro and Lavezares which suffered brownouts since Saturday.
On the other hand, the Samar towns of Pagsanjan, Gandara, Tarangnan, San Jorge and Matuguinao still have power interruptions, also since Saturday.
Meanwhile, the NGCP reported that partial power restorations have been done in Camarines Sur, Quezon and other parts of Samar.
NGCP said necessary preparations and precautions have been set to lessen the impact of storm “Amang” to its operations and facilities.
“These include ensuring the availability of hardware materials and supplies necessary for the repair of damages to facilities, as well as the positioning of line crews in strategic areas to facilitate immediate restoration work,” the NGCP said.
NGCP is a privately-owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining and developing the country’s power grid. PNA
