THE Pasay City-Bureau of Fire Protection (Pasay-BFP) has intensified its campaign on fire safety. Chief Insp. Douglas Guiyab, City Fire Marshal, said massive inspections are being conducted to all structures and establishments in Pasay which includes malls, department stores, public markets, super markets, shopping centers, drug stores and auction rooms. “Our business owners should be prepared for fire safety inspections. We will check if they have the required emergency exit, smoke detectors, and extinguishers, among others. We’re also conducting fire trainings and fire drills regularly this year in schools, government offices, residential areas, and hospitals,” he added. The move by Pasay-BFP is in light of the explosion of an LPG tank that caused injuries to two women residing in Tramo, Pasay City.
