The one-way traffic scheme along the stretch of Paseo de Roxas Avenue in Makati City from the corner of Makati Avenue to Buendia Avenue has been lifted. Paseo de Roxas was recently closed to traffic following an accident last Friday where debris from Mandarin Oriental Hotel that was being demolished fell and injured an Australian woman and hit a parked vehicle. Mayor Romulo “Kid” Peña Jr. has advised pedestrians to avoid the area and called on motorists to proceed with caution to avoid accidents for smooth traffic flow. Mandarin was ordered demolished last year to make way for a planned redevelopment by Ayala Land. The iconic structure stood at the heart of Makati’s central business district for 39 years.
