• Paulate wants 10 ‘welcome’ arches in QC

Quezon City government has plans to construct ten welcome arches in the city’s major entry points to remind visitors and motorists that they are entering the “City of Stars.”

In Resolution 5921 introduced by city councilor and actor Roderick Paulate, the city council asked Mayor Herbert M. Bautista, also an actor, to facilitate the installation or construction of a welcome arch in 10 major entry points to the city with the statement “Welcome to Quezon City, the City of Stars.”

The ten arches, Paulate said should be constructed at the Batasan-San Mateo Road (between Batasan Hills and San Mateo, Rizal); Quirino Highway (between Pasong Putik and Caloocan North); General Luis (between Nagkaisang Nayon and Caloocan North); EDSA (between Unang Sigaw-Balingasa and Caloocan South); North Diversion Road (between Balumbato and Caloocan South); Mindanao Avenue (between Bulacan and Barangay Talipapa); Quezon Avenue (near the QC- Manila boundary); Aurora Boulevard (between Doña Imelda and San Juan); EDSA (near QC boundary with Mandaluyong and Pasig City); and Aurora Boulevard (between Loyola Heights and Marikina City).
