Pay taxes early, BIR reminds public

The new year has yet to start but already, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is reminding taxpayers to file and pay their taxes early to avoid penalties.

BIR Deputy Commissioner Nelson M. Aspe appealed to all taxpayers not to wait for the April 15 tax filing deadline and start preparing and submitting their annual Income Tax Returns and other necessary documents as early as January 2016.

He also reminded that all manual or electronic tax filers or Accredited Tax Agents using eBIRForms and eFPS (Electronic Filing and Payment System) should download the latest version and start filing early to avoid technical difficulties or downtime of the system.

On December 26, 2015, all BIR systems (Integrated Tax System, eFPS, eBIRForms and other eServices) underwent regular system maintenance in preparation for the tax filing season and year-end adjustment.

For more information or assistance, taxpayers may visit the BIR website at or call the BIR hotline at 981-888.

  1. Please send a reminder notice to Senator Grace Poe Llamanzares to pay her Philippine Taxes early, to include her salary and benefits received as a Senator during the calendar year of 2015. If she claims a huge tax deductions, it maybe an indication of a red flag, and it will be the reason for you (BIR) to scrutinize her tax return. I, particularly do not trust this person because she has the tendency to bend the rules or circumvent the law, to her advantage.
