The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the country’s largest business organization, elected its board of directors for 2016-2017 during the group’s annual meeting on December 4.
By unanimous vote of the newly elected board, Benedicto Yujuico and George Barcelon were elected chairman and president, respectively.
Yujuico replaces Miguel Varela and Barcelon replaces Alfredo Yao beginning January 2016.
The new board consists of Antonio Abacan Jr., of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co.; Roberto Amores, Hi-Las Marketing Corp.; Ramon Ang, San Miguel Corp.; Barcelon of Paramount Vinyl Products Corp.; William Co of William & Co. and Philippines Inc.; Angelito Colona, Eagle Express Lines Inc.; Ramon Escueta, Asia Pacific Business and Industrial Systems Inc.; Alberto Fenix Jr., life member; Felipe Gozon, GMA Network Inc.; Samson Lim, life member; Alegria Limjoco, International Franchise Corp. of the Philippines; Benjamin Loong, BJ Coco Oilmill Inc.; Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc.; Renato Simbulan of R. G. Simbulan and Partners Corp.; and Yujuico of Athena E. Services.
Elected as area/region vice presidents were Danilo Sanchez, National Capital Region; Alfonso Lao, North Luzon; Jeremie Janssen Lo, South Luzon; Jose Ng, Visayas; and Antonio Uy, Mindanao.
