The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is offering Philippine companies, young entrepreneurs, women business leaders the opportunity to showcase to an Asean audience their capability for innovation and a proven ability to create, nurture and develop new products or services for the market.
“The Asean Business Awards (ABA) is one way of getting our enterprises connected and engage with their counterparts in the region,” said PCCI President Alfredo Yao.
“As the equivalent of Asean’s Oscar for business excellence, it highlights companies’ best practices and strategies on how they are able to manage the challenges of Asean integration and fully maximize its benefits,” Yao said.
The PCCI, the country’s largest business organization, invites nominations for the Asean Business Awards Philippines whose winners will benefit from recognition, media exposures and networking Asean-wide.
The winners of ABA Philippines will be the country’s’ representatives to the 2014 ABA Awards to be held in Myanmar in November 2014.
For large enterprises, the categories are for innovation, corporate excellence and Asean strategy. For SMEs and young entrepreneurs and women leaders in SMEs, the category is for innovation.
Deadline for submitting nominations for the ABA Philippines is on June 15, 2014.Awarding will be on September 9.

The ABA Philippines was launched recently, highlighted with the signing of the memorandum of understanding involving the departments of trade and industry, finance, labor and foreign affairs and private sector counterparts.
The private sector counterparts included the Asean BAC Philippines, PCCI, Philippine Exporters Confederation, Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines, Management Association of the Philippines and the Asian Institute of Management.
