The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will host for the first time the 2014 Asia-Pacific Lottery Association (APLA)/World Lottery Association (WLA) Joint Business Seminar to be held from April 28 to May 1, 2014 at The Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The seminar, with the theme “Marketing in the New Age: Captivate, Innovate, Engage,” will focus on marketing and sales in a time of rapidly changing technologies and social expectations.
International speakers will discuss relevant topics such as “The Digital Revolution and its Implications for Marketing,” “Organizational Storytelling,” “Future in Focus: The Rise of Online Gambling and the Threats, Challenges and Opportunities for Lotteries and Regulators,” “Building Competitive Advantage & Capturing Value in the Service Economy,” “Managing the Customer Experience: Acquisition, Customer Loyalty and Retention,” “Jollibee’s Recipe for Success,” “Innovative Lottery Solutions, Customer Communication & Loyalty Programs Around the World” and “Using Certified Responsible Gaming for Business Growth.”
There will also be “In Conversations” with industry speakers and Panel Sessions on the industry’s latest developments. A social activity is also included to give the attendees from all over the world a chance to visit historical landmarks in Metro Manila, a city with warm hospitality, urban development, historic sentiment, colorful festivals and exotic cuisine, ranked by Forbes.com as “the friendliest country in Asia.”
“It is such an honor to host the APLA/WLA seminars. We are again marking a milestone in the history of the PCSO and we have been preparing to be global and world-class. This seminar is definitely a huge step toward that goal,” PCSO Chairman Margarita Juico said.
“We welcome participants from around the world to the Philippines. We want to show them not only our best practices when it comes to lottery, but our beautiful country and rich culture as well,” said Juliet Aseo, PCSO’s assistant general manager for management services.
APLA is one of five regional associations of the WLA, representing 25 lotteries from 10 countries in the Asia Pacific region. It is a forum to cultivate and strengthen communications for the benefit of sharing information and experience within the worldwide lottery industry.
