The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) recently opened a branch at the Surfing Capital of Northern Luzon, San Juan, La Union, to bring services closer to residents there. In the opening of the PCSO San Juan office, Chairman Margie Juico said that San Juan will be PCSO’s partner in serving the Filipino people, in bringing help to the needy and, in making available health programs for La Union. The municipality of San Juan, through Mayor Ruben Valero Jr., offered a lease of a 68-square meter commercial space at the ground floor of the Legislative Building for PCSO. La Union is a sub-branch of Pangasinan with eight personnel to serve the province’s population of 35,098 in 41 barangays. PCSO is the principal government agency mandated to generate funds for health programs and charities of national character.
